Professor Lo is currently a faculty member of the College of Sustainability at National Tsing Hua University. His academic fields are life sciences and agriculture. His research and teaching expertise includes ecosystem restoration, ecological sustainable agriculture, carbon sinks and carbon credits, environment and human health, terrestrial resource recovery and refinement, and food safety systems.

Honors & Achievements
Has published 110 international journal papers; since 2013, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of Food Science and Nutrition, and has contributed to multiple academic books (including six book chapters).
His book Commercially Sterile Packaged Foods has been adopted by the U.S. FDA as an official internal and international training manual, and was translated and published in 2021 by the Taiwan Food Technologists Association.
Led a U.S. Congressional-funded project on “Non-Smoking Uses of Tobacco” for 10 consecutive years (2003–2012), resulting in three patents and successful technology transfer.
Received the U.S. White House “Silver Volunteer Service Award” twice (2015–2016); awarded the UN HHO “Outstanding Research Award in Food Safety” in 2017; in the same year, elected Fellow of the World Food Preservation Center and Ambassador of IUFoST.
Assisted countries including Nigeria, Mozambique, Myanmar, El Salvador, Cambodia, and Ecuador in securing food safety education and ecological restoration funding from the World Bank and USAID.
Chaired the 2013 United Nations Global Forum on Food, Nutrition & Health, and delivered the closing summary at the 2017 “Healthy Cities” roundtable.
Frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences, speaking on NI (Naturalistic Intelligence) vs. AI.
